Sylvia B. Concepcion, PhD, has more than two decades of experience in research specifically in the fields of agribusiness supply chains, market and consumer research, and small-holder farming studies. She has led and conducted various researches, mostly on the relational aspects of these areas. These researches were funded by international funding agencies like the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). Over 60 of her research works were published and cited as least 320 times in several international and local journals.

Aside from her research expertise, Dr. Concepcion has also 40 years of teaching experience in the University of the Philippines, in the campuses of Cebu, Diliman and Mindanao. She is now focused on the commercialization of patentable technologies developed in UP Mindanao.

She has a PhD in Sociology from the University of the Philippines Diliman, a Masters in Management from the University of the Philippines Cebu and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from UP Diliman.
